Victoria Park, Park Avenue, East Belfast BT4 1JT BEING RUN IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 12TH WORLD 24-HOUR CHAMPIONSHIPS AND THE WORLD MASTERS AGE-GROUPS.
Registration Friday, June 30 at the Treehouse, Queen’s Elms Village, 88 Malone Road, Belfast BT9 5BW from noon to 4pm or from 8am to 10.30am in the Victoria Park(BT3 9EF) marquee ( near Open Race camping area) on race day, July 1.
At registration, competitors will collect a Goody Bag including a race chip, a T-shirt and 2 numbers. On race day you are advised to come early to allow time to set up your tent, table and make preparations.
The closest access to the Open Race set-up area is to park at Sydenham Station, Inverary Drive(BT4 1RD).
There is street parking and that area is on a 3A metro bus route. Alternatively, you can walk through the underpass and into the park. Being among tightly packed terraced housing, the underpass is tricky to find. Good landmarks are the Strand Cinema and the Park Avenue Hotel on the Holywood Road.
THERE IS NO ACCESS INTO THE PARK FROM THE DUAL CARRIAGEWAY. There is one other way into the Park. That is over the Sam Thompson bridge( pedestrians only). This will be used by the international teams.
Race briefing at 11am in the Open Race camping area. 1653 metres.
You should check your chip is working before the start.
Your numbers must be clearly visible at all times ( even in adverse weather conditions or dropping temperatures ).
The food and water station (in the car-park area just before the start) . There will be wide variety of food there. Tables(up to a limit) will be made available for competitors.
World 24-Hour Masters competition. Open Race competitors are eligible to take part in this if they have entered via Active and paid the appropriate fee.
Medals will be awarded for the 1-2-3 men and women in each age-group. These will be presented at the Closing Ceremony
Queen’s Playing Fields, Upper Malone Road, Belfast BT9 5NB starting at 6pm.
There will be a special jacket for any athlete in the Open Race who reaches 100 miles and every entrant will receive a medal and a T-shirt.
There will be toilets on the course near the camp-site.
Open Race competitors are invited to the World Championship Closing Ceremony.
